All-Star English is a unique and interactive online English program for motivated student athletes in Latin America. This interest-based program incorporates baseball and softball concepts into the language acquisition methodology, creating a fun and dynamic learning experience. Since its launch in August 2020, the program has expanded to serve over 200 students in eight departments (states) in Colombia thanks to the support of the U.S. Embassy in Colombia, the MLB Players Trust and dozens of our generous donors from around the world. Our sponsor DHL has supported the program by donating 55 laptop computers through the DHL-Helping Learners program. We believe that this collaboration among the government, education, business and non-profit sectors is the future of social change globally.
The core value propositions of ASE are small class sizes (4 maximum), employing a unique interest-based approach, and serving low-income populations that otherwise would not have access to quality English instruction. Furthermore, we use real-life incentives to motivate the students in class. For instance, at the end of each season, the student with the best ASE Average (MVP) and the players on the championship team win useful baseball and softball supplies.
All-Star English is offered on a scholarship basis to dedicated and qualified student-athletes who lack the financial resources to pay for a quality English education. Project Béisbol raises funds and partners with generous organizations such as the MLB Players Trust to fund the program, therefore scholarships opportunities are limited. If you are interested in joining the program on a fee basis, please Contact Us from details on pricing and scheduling.
The All-Star English League is back for its fourth season!
Thanks to our generous sponsor and partner, the MLB Players Trust, we’ve awarded 20 student-leaders from 7 cities in Colombia with one-year scholarships (2024) to study English in our All-Star English program. But that’s not all – we’re delighted to introduce our newest addition to the coaching lineup, Sophia Herrera from Bogota, Colombia! Let’s give a warm welcome to our new players and coach as we embark on an incredible learning adventure together.
