Internship Opportunity Colombia

The Community Relations intern in Colombia will play a key role in supporting local initiatives by helping organize programs, facilitating partnerships, coordinating sports and educational activities, and managing logistics to ensure smooth operations and the growth of Project Béisbol’s impact. 

 

  • Locations: Medellín, Bogotá, Cartagena, Barranquilla (1 position open in each city)
  • Start Date: April 2025
  • Duration: Minimum 3 months
  • Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 2-4 hours per day
  • Work Environment: 50% Independent, 40% Community Visits, 10% Domestic Travel
  • Reports To: Project Béisbol’s President and the Admin/Education Manager. 
  • Contract Type: Volunteer/Unpaid – Transportation & Meal Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Assist local leaders in organizing new and existing programs.
  • Schedule and coordinate activities, PB visits, etc.
  • Assist in coordination of education activities. 
  • Manage equipment inventory and oversee donations.
  • Deliver equipment to participating programs.
  • Recruit volunteers and build local partnerships.
  • Identify potential sponsors and partners.
  • Organize networking events (happy hours, meetings, etc.).
  • Weekly virtual team meetings.
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed. 

Requirements 

  • Current or former baseball or softball players and/or enthusiasts.
  • Native Spanish speakers or fully fluent.
  • Clean background.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace tools.

Preferences

  • Intermediate or above English speakers.
  • Previous coaching or volunteer experience (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in the areas of responsibility listed in the post.
  • Experience with photography, content creation and social media.

Orientation & Safety

  • Project Béisbol will provide comprehensive training and orientation for all interns during their first two weeks. Following this, local staff, volunteers, and partner organizations will continue to offer support and guidance. Project Béisbol adheres to best safety practices in all locations, and volunteers will receive a full briefing on these protocols before starting their assignments.

 Note:
The volunteer will receive one (1) simple lunch for each day of active participation, up to a maximum of three (3) lunches per week. Additionally, Project Béisbol will cover transportation expenses necessary to attend activities related to the volunteer work, only on the days the volunteer participates in such activities. The amount allocated to cover these expenses will be discussed during the interview process and may vary depending on the location where the volunteer work takes place.
