Background & Experience
Rafael Polos, a passionate community leader for Project Beisbol, launched his baseball program in Los Patios in November 2021. Since then, he has positively impacted the lives of 120 children in his municipality, introducing them to the sport and its values. As a baseball coach and community ambassador, Rafael plays a vital role in promoting the sport as an alternative to traditional options like soccer, which dominate the region. His most inspiring moment came in July 2022, when, with the support of Project Beisbol, he organized the first-ever baseball festival in Los Patios. This historic event brought together programs from three other municipalities, showcasing the beauty of baseball to the local community for the first time
For Rafael, baseball holds deep personal significance as the number-one sport in his native Venezuela, a tradition passed down through generations. He founded his program to offer his community a new athletic option and to contribute positively to the lives of children and youth. Rafael’s program emphasizes teaching values through sport, helping participants become not only skilled athletes but also responsible and respectful citizens. Through his dedication, Rafael continues to inspire his community and cultivate the next generation of baseball enthusiasts.
