Background & Experience
Edilberto Jordan Salgado has been training children in baseball for 30 years, having impacted 65 young athletes in the process. His involvement with Project Béisbol began when his club, Tiburones from Necoclí, was prioritized by the program to receive support. The assistance, particularly with equipment, has greatly improved the performance of his players. For Edilberto, the most inspiring moment came when he learned that his club was part of the program, as it addressed a critical need for resources. Baseball is extremely important to the municipality, which has historically been resilient, and the support has helped strengthen the club, allowing families to engage actively in the sport. Edilberto’s love for baseball runs deep, as the sport has brought him immense joy and allowed him to work as a coach after many years as a national-level player. He started his program after stepping away from active play, driven by the desire to pass on his knowledge and contribute to the development of young athletes. His goal is to continue working on the personal and athletic growth of the Tiburones players, with the hope that one day one of them will sign as a professional player.
